AWG creates memorable night for Joy Prom attendees by Devon Padgett

For the seventh year in a row, AWG's FABLAB supported the Joy Prom event which was held this year at the M resort this past Saturday. JOY PROM is a full-scale prom for teenagers and adult individuals with cognitive and physical impairments where every guest is celebrated and accepted. The invited guests are hosted complimentary. The experience recognizes the individual guest first and then their disability, while providing a positive environment free of judgment or negativity.

Guests enjoy this experience along with their peers in a protected, safe, controlled, and comfortable environment. The JOY PROM Las Vegas experience empowers guests to be confident, fosters inclusion, builds self-esteem and inspires friendships.

One of JOYPROM's committee members penned AWG President Kellie Hanley some of her thoughts on this year's event that we are pleased to share.

"As always the adorable photo op in the ballroom was super popular with our guests. We had princess Moana there and your backdrop was so perfect for photos with her. You and your people always do an incredible job in making that piece work seamlessly with our theme and the other decor. Thank you!!!!

Speaking of thank you- I thought the 'Thank You' wall couldn't get any cooler than last years but I was wrong. I absolutely loved the wall!! The creativity and execution is always so above and beyond and provided yet another fabulous photo op. We are so very grateful for your commitment and generosity it partnering with us to make JoyProm an incredible night for our guests. We exist for no other reason than to make 300 guests feel like the VIPs of the night and for our very large volunteer base to be touched by the experience in ways that will carry over into the every day for them. As a parent wrote in a note she left for us, "it would be wonderful if the world was filled with only people as nice as these." I believe Joy Prom shows us all a lot about how more alike we all are than different.

AWG is honored to be participate in the annual JOY PROM and hopes that all of this years attendees had a memorable and joyful evening. Here are some assorted pictures from this year's event:

Frankie Moreno headlines Coca Cola's Cinemacon 2017 by Devon Padgett

For the 15th consecutive year, AWG Destination Management Services, a 21 year old veteran of the Las Vegas Events industry was honored to produce the final night party of Coca Cola’s Cinemacon event at Caesars Palace on March 30, 2017. Headlining this year’s ultimate event, Frankie Moreno brought his band and charm to the Octavius Ballroom for a fun filled evening of dance, food and several Coca Cola branded zones.

“It was a four brand focus this year. We wanted to showcase the three traditional brands of Coke and debut their brand new “Life” brand. To do this we broke the room up into zones that mirrored the brand image of each brand. For Coke Zero we created an interactive sports zone which let players challenge one another to a basketball shootout. Each zone featured a massive 8 foot tall bottle with the corresponding branded throw pillows and costumed atmosphere performers spinning light wands which were programmed with the logos of the brands ,” explained Kellie Hanley, President of AWG DMC.

“For the new Coke Life Brand we constructed a natural area complete with a swing, artificial grass and plants strewn throughout the zone to create a park-like scene inside the ballroom. This reflects Coke Life’s all natural ingredients and its return to basics for this new brand concept,”continued Hanley.

AWG & Industrial host Las Vegas Convention & Visitor's Authority in the dome by Devon Padgett

"There's no place like dome!," explained Special Projects Director and Immersive Technology specialist Devon Padgett as he and the AWG team welcomed 30 staff members from LVCVA to showcase inflatable dome and projection mapping technology at the Industrial Event Space at Sahara and Industrial Road.

Guests were treated to a preview showing of 360Dome's new 360 degree digital short Deep Dream: Chaing Mai in a 17 foot diameter dome inside the 10,000 square foot event center which opened it's doors last fall. After a tour of the facility they were then brought outside to witness the debut of AWG's new 55 foot diameter airdome where they enjoyed wine and cheese plates while experiencing the new Daydream Virtual Reality platform inside the aircube.

"We are very excited about the Industrial Event Space and feel it's proximity to the Convention Center and strip attractions combined with its mix of indoor and outdoor space makes it an ideal location for our client looking to maximize their bang for the buck. We think domes and virtual reality are two of the hottest event technologies out there and are very thankful to our partners at 360Dome and the Industrial Event Space for helping us make this vision a reality here in Las Vegas," commented AWG DMC President Kellie Hanley

AWG wows the Wynn @ its Design Showcase by Devon Padgett

AWG was honored to be invited by the executives at the Wynn Resort to showcase its latest designs and products inside the hotel this past month. Guests were treated to several different decor themes from a grassy butterfly garden to a meditation zone.

Devon Padgett, Special Projects Director curated a Virtual Reality experience using the new Google Daydream system inside a 200 square foot inflatable dome which he custom designed himself. Guests were asked where their favorite place in the world was and then instantly transported there in 360 degrees while sitting on a specially designed swiveling and reclined race-inspired chair. In front of the cube, staff spun LED graphic sticks which were programmed with AWG and Wynn logos for the event.

For the wedding zone, gold and silver motifs were showcased along with a rainbow inspired multi-colored glass design.

AWG helps Univision ring in the new year at Caesars Palace by Devon Padgett

5....4....3.....2.....1.......HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Last weekend, an estimated 330,000 revelers packed the Strip to ring in the new year immersed in fireworks that were exploding all around them. This year, Univision trusted AWG Destination Management to handle the site selection and logistics for their first ever west-coast broadcast from the strip.

Back in October, AWG contacted a number of strip hotels to gauge interest in this broadcast seen live from the US, Mexico, and Central America by over 8 million people. After an extensive review process, the front of Caesars Palace was selected by Univision due to it's central location and excellent view of the fireworks. AWG was then engaged to handle ground transportation, bathrooms, food, lodging, talent procurement and security of the site from setup to strike.

"Because the strip closes at 3pm on New Years Eve, everything becomes a lot more complicated in terms of moving in and around the strip," explained Kellie Hanley, President of AWG DMC. "Because our organization handles logistics for so many other large events like EDC and NASCAR, we were able to create a project plan which anticipated potential bottlenecks and create work arounds for the production crew to ensure a seamless and worry-free broadcast of the festivities".

"It was amazing working with your team at AWG," declared Tony Miro, Sr. Director of Programming Administration for Univision. "Thanks for all your help!"

AWG Presents the 4th Annual DMC Network Ovation Talent Search by Devon Padgett

For the fourth year in a row, AWG DMC produced the annual DMC Network Ovation Talent Search and IMEX Afterparty. The highlight video can be seen here:  http://www.vimeo.com/thefablab/dmctalent

This year the event was held at Light Nightclub and featured nine talented performers starting with Mike Lyon's ode to the iconic crooners of Vegas past with "Lady is a Tramp". Kate Schneider followed Mike up with her soulful rendition of "Last Dance" with Tim Pappalardo dropping some Lonestar on the Audience with "Amazing".

Pechha Wallach then stormed the stage with her androgynous half-male half-female costume as she sung the Human League's 1980's classic "Don't you want me Baby?" followed by Brian Carraher's original song IMEX Blues which can be seen on our video channel at www.vimeo.com/thefablab/imexblues

Holly Mechsner then gave the ladies in the crowd some candid advice with her rendition of Carrie Underwood's classic "Before He Cheats" followed by Eric Nell and his afro wig bringing down the house with James Brown's "I Feel Good"

Talent Search winner Alison Watson then took the stage and sang Elle King's X's and O's which won both the crowd and the judges over with her high energy and range. Shonna Nitzel rounded out the performers with her heartfelt version of "Who's Loving You" bringing the live portion of the show to a close.

"We would really like to thank all the performers, sponsors and DMC Network Partners for their support and participation. Without them this show would not be possible," remarked AWG President Kellie Hanley "It was such a fun evening and all of the performers really brought their "A" game."

AWG's Staff flies high over Lake Las Vegas by Devon Padgett

AWG DMC's Staff was recently treated to a truly unique and fun day on the lake courtesy of Flyboard Las Vegas. Kellie Hanley, AWG's fearless President and 20+ year veteran of the Las Vegas events world led off the team and was able to ride above the lake after a few practice runs. Event Fabricator Eric Parham rode alongside of her with varying degrees of success but luckily survived with his dignity intact. Next up was Program Manager Haleema Linares and Event Fabricator Kam Marvi. Haleema's never say die attitude was on full display as she attempted to master the flyboard, a skill which came almost second nature to Kam.

Next up was Operations Specialist Donna Montanino who was a natural on the flyboard and showed the rest of the staff how it was done. Director of Special Projects Devon Padgett also gave the flyboard a try and set the record for highest flight amongst the group. If you are looking for a respite from the summer heat, we highly recommend Flyboarding.

AWG would like to cordially thank the staff of Flyboard Las Vegas for an amazing day on Lake Las Vegas. To book your own flyboard experience, go to flyboardlasvegas.com and tell the AWG sent you!

AWG's Logistics & Transportation Team manages another seamless EDC for Insomniac by Devon Padgett

For the sixth year in a row, AWG's Award winning logistics management team was there to manage Insomniac's Electronic Daisy Carnival shuttle service June 17-19 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This year marked the 20th year anniversary for Insomniac's flagship event which was attended by over 400,000 festival goers. AWG's staff managed six strip shuttle locations in addition to the return shuttle location at the Speedway, helping over 45,000 attendees per night get back and forth to the event. In order to accomplish this feat, almost 500 motor coaches were needed from four states. Special permission was secured from Nellis Air Force Base to use the bases' roads which helped to ease some of the traffic congestion on I-15.

"It's truly a one of a kind project to move that many people from the strip to the Speedway every year but our staff takes a lot of pride and always rises to the occasion," commented AWG DMC President Kellie Hanley. "We are very proud to be Insomniac's trusted partner for this incredible event and look forward to continuing to raise the bar in logistics and management excellence in the years to come."

To enhance the service, AWG managed over 300 staff to ensure the flawless execution of the master plan which is a year round project touching all aspects of the operation.

"Each shuttle stop is a program within itself requiring significant planning and execution from merchandise areas to bathrooms to power and tenting. No detail is too small and each step of the process requires approval from the client, venue and municipality prior to us building anything,"explained Senior Program Manager Robyn Mathis.

AWG's brings the fire (and drums) for the IRF 2016 Fundraiser by Devon Padgett

AWG Destination Management, a 20 year leader in event planning, decor, design and logistics recently produced the Welcome Night Events for the Incentive Research Foundation's annual fundraiser held on June 3, 2016 at Green Valley Ranch Resort.

The theme of the evening was Arabian Nights featuring entertainment never before seen in Vegas. Headlining the night was the Drum Machine, an illuminated canopy of electronic drums and symbals played by Shannon Ellinas.  Ellinas recently relocated from South Africa to Las Vegas to pursue his dream of bringing his music to the masses in America. Shannon's drum machine can be booked through AWG and be experienced in the video below or at drummachinedj.com. Ellinas played alongside "Violin Girl" Amanda Marks who brought her own unique musical flair to the evening.

During the live auction, attendees were dazzled by a choreographed dance ensemble who performed atop a spinning apparatus in full costumes. After the conclusion of the Live auction, guests were directed outside by a team of friendly "flight attendants" with light wands who led the guests past african drummers, fire performers and LED Poi spinners to an elegant dinner that showcased the collection of dining options at Green Valley Ranch.  Guests could design and make their own sandals at the sandal station or interact with a live monkey inside the monkey tent. Over 300 guests in all attended the event which was part of a 5 day IRF Education and Incentive Invitational.

"AWG was honored and thrilled to be a host sponsor of the 23rd annual event which exceeded goals by 143% for scientific research into incentives and motivation for business internationally to improve individual performance and overall organizational efficiency”, commented AWG President Kellie Hanley.

T Mobile Arena almost ready to rock! by Devon Padgett

Devon Padgett is the Director-Special Projects of AWG managing the immersive and pop-up division. He has worked in the past for the Colorado Rockies, University of Denver athletic department, Kroenke Sports and Yooj Immersive creating integrated cross-media brand activations and sports marketing messaging at Coors Field, Pepsi Center, Mile High Stadium, the Ritchie Center and Denver Coliseum.

by Devon Padgett

I recently had the pleasure of touring the brand new 20,000 seat T-Mobile Arena between the New York New York and Monte Carlo properties. Slated to open in just a few short weeks with a Wayne Newton and Killers concert, this arena has it all from plush suites to a monster video board! Coming from the game production world, I continue to be blown away by the sheer amount of technology that goes into these new arenas to power the fan experience. The video boards just keep getting bigger and more clear so I can't wait to see what this looks like once they turn it on for the first time.

The TVs on the concourse were already playing ESPN and we were able to ride the freight elevator to the very top of the arena where the view was just amazing.

Why does a city with no major teams need a new $375 million privately financed facility? Well put simply it's all about the future. While there has been a ton of added convention space the past decade, the only arenas in town are at the Orleans and the MGM and they are too small to house a major political convention or major Rock and Roll tour like U2. My spies tell me that the home locker room is being appointed to NHL standards so the vacancy may not last long if AEG and MGM can find the right team to relocate for the 2016-2017 season.

The finishing touches are being put on the monsterous video board as the workers hustle to hit the April 6 opening date.

One of the signature components of the new arena is the lengthy escalators which seem to go into the sky like Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven". There are two of them which transport crowds from the bottom to the top seamlessly.

This escalator is apparently the longest in the USA and one of the longest in the world.

This escalator is apparently the longest in the USA and one of the longest in the world.

Parking is going to be at a premium with only the New York New York and Monte Carlo Garages available for on premise parking. Transportation companies including our own AWGAMBASSADOR.COM will be standing by to whisk patrons to and from the arena to help allay any bottlenecks once the events end.

From a design standpoint, the atrium area really stands out as a wide open and airy space with sweeping views of the strip and entertainment pavilion.

From an events standpoint, TMobile arena seems well positioned to become a mecca for UFC, NCAA, music and NBA exhibition games until a permanent team can be found to call it home. For more information about tmobile arena go to their website at arenalasvegas.com
